Meet your tattoo artist
Born in Hingashi, Yuu Fujimoto began his apprenticeship as an horishi [tattoo artist] under the renowned Master Horiyoshi in Doma at age 18. For 5 years, he'll study under his care and will be rewarded with his master horishi name – Yuu Horikoshi - at the end of his apprenticeship. Fujimoto will then subsequently open his own irezumi studio in Doma, slowly making a name for himself. This will be short lived, as he’ll have to flee, like many others, because of the Garlean threat. While his shop was razed to the ground, Fujimoto managed to make a living with his art from humble beginnings as a refugee in the streets of Ul'dah. He'll also learn the secrets of aether-imbued tattooing in the 15 years he'll spend in Eorzea. However, once enough money was gathered for a trip back to his homeland, the man was quick to sail to Hingashi and reopen his studio. While his homeport is the Far-East, Yuu often travels around the world, frequenting faires and festivals to promote his work abroad.(Should you wish to book an IC rp session with Yuu, you can contact me on Discord at kuro8529 My availability - minus evenings I attend FC events - is from 6pm to 10pm EST though I may be a bit more open on the weekend. I'm also a multi-para rper, something to keep in mind if you have trouble waiting 10 min for me to write a 2-3 paragraph novel lol )

...and his assistant
Ul'dah born, Nanaju Naju had a chance encounter with Fujimoto when he arrived in the city as a Far-Eastern refugee. From humble beginnings as a merchant's helper, she found her true calling in Yuu's work, mesmerized by the images he brought to life with ink and needles. So began the story of their friendship and, once Fujimoto's business grew and the need for an assistant became essential, who better for the job than his dear friend. Thus she became Yuu's assistant but also his first apprentice. Though she passed her training a few years ago, she decided to remain his assistant and continue working at Kenshō Studio. She is fully qualified to perform wan-pointo (small stand-alone tattoos).

His Work
Nearing three decades of experience, Master Fujimoto has perfected the Far-Eastern art of irezumi and, as such, his work is heavily anchored in Hingan tradition. May it be a simple image or a suit of Nine Dragons, he views tattoos as a form of spiritual aid and protection. Also a practitioner of martial arts, he studied to bring together his knowledge and passion, thus enabling him to weave ki into his art in the form of aether-imbued tattoos.+ Traditional tattoo can be done in many ways - full suit, jacket, back piece, chest plate, sleeve, and more. However, they will all require previous consultation(s) followed by scheduled appointments over the course of many moons, depending on size and complexity of the tattoo.+ Aether-imbued tattoo can, like the above, be done in a myriads of ways. Their purpose can be numerous, from storing aether to facilitating the casting of spells. Arcane symbols can also be 'hidden' under a regular tattoo.+ However, small wan-pointo ['walk-ins' tattoos] are available when Yuu travels to faires and festivals. Those shouldn't take above a bell to be completed but they are, obviously, far simpler in design and usually done in black ink only (though one accent color may be added).+ Besides tattoo work, Yuu may sell some of his original ink drawings and oil paintings at festivals. Thus you can expect him to have new stock fairly often, it all depends on what he sold previously and what new art he made in between events.

If you're curious...
The IC prices of tattoos was determined with the following: 1 gil = 1 yen. Irezumi performed by a master range from 15,000 to 20,000 yen per hour, irl. Thus a walk-in tattoo at 20,000 gils is the equivalent of roughly one hour of work for $190 USD. This is consistent with prices in the US or Canada, where a 4 to 6 inches tattoo ranges between $150 to $450, though bigger ones take more than one hour. Yuu, being a master with nearly 30 years of experience, charges more per hour for bigger, original pieces that require many sittings. The same principle as above was used to determine the price tag of the ink drawings, compared with the going rate for original art irl. Yuu could easily charge double for those.

Wan-pointo (No real gil exchange necessary)
(I do not own any of these drawings. They are merely there for the sake of RP)You can only chose from the featured designs for walk-in tattoos. Please be sure to have one bell of free time so the tattoo can be completed in one sitting The actual time in game will likely not take one hour, as I don't want to glue anyone to a chair for that long in a public event. Walk-ins will be refused near the end of the event as not enough time will remain to finish the tattoo. However, you are more than welcome to book an appointment with the artist on a later date. Furthermore, do not worry if you missed a design you loved particularly, as the walk-in tattoo designs comes back on a regular rotation. And don't be shy!
Come have a chat even if the artist is working. He'll be happy to answer your questions.Selection of designs - 20,000 gils each
